Taking A Walk

Turns out, making short journeys by walking and not driving not only improves your health but helps the environment as well. Walking, even at a slow pace, for one mile can burn 100 calories and consistent walking reduces the risk of diabetes and heart disease in the long run. Walking 1 mile, instead of driving, will also save you 15 cents on gas and save 1 pound of C02 emissions entering our atmosphere.....small steps can go a long way in the long run. Now, extrapolate these numbers over a year's time and multiply that by 10,000 people......
That is a lot of gas saved and emissions reduced.
Check out Walk Score to see how walkable your neighborhood is and what and where businesses are located for your walking convenience.
