....and all the little things

Even the tiniest efforts can make a huge difference over time and across many people. Here are some teeny tiny tips for conserving resources that require ZERO tears, sweat, and blood to be shed.

1. Don't wet your toothbrush before brushing -- you will save at least a tablespoon of water every time.
2. Turn off the hot faucet before the cold (e.g. the shower)-- you will save energy on your water heater
3. For you coffee addicts, use a creamer cup-- if you have multiple cups of coffee in the morning (like I do), have a cup of creamer handy in your workspace or at home to keep you from opening the refrigerator repeatedly.
4. Unplug your iron and flat iron (for the ladies) just before you are done ironing clothes or straightening your hair--after you unplug it, the iron/flat iron should stay hot long enough to iron a couple more shirts, complete the finishing touches on your hair, and save energy!
